Is it really important to reward employees?

Is it really important to reward employees? This is a question that can occur to most managers and HR persons. Although this is a proven method of keeping your employees motivated and happy, it cannot be justified wholly. Sometimes, it is better not to give rewards! That will motivate the employees to perform better. If they are given rewards, they will tend to relax and not do more work. They will be satisfied with the rewards they get. But on the other hand, one can argue and state many instances where rewards have made wonders. Rewards don't have to be expensive -- no seven day cruise tickets are necessary unless the company can afford it and the performance was really, really outstanding!!! What is important is that when you have a special promotion or a busy time coming up, you get in the habit of planning rewards and doing something about it when you notice your staff doing things right. Inexpensive Ways to Say Thanks For A Job Well Done Almost all of my customers provide their staff with a small token of appreciation at the end of the every year. This is the best part of the article I like. It is a well written article which says that rewards do work. They work extensively. They motivate the employees and make them self- driven.
Hope you had fun reading my post. Good day
