In middle school I took trombone but quit about a month or two later - I never got past the basic practice stuff. Today I am teaching myself to play keyboard at home for about 2 years now. I am using Bastiens for older adults, it is good. i have so many different teach yourself to play piano books ... others by bastien, some by Hal Leonard, easy piano books ...such as, gospel, blues, Christmas.. I am able to read most of the level one and level two music, in fact, I am begining with Triplets now. I used to use a mini program called " One Note" it would pop up a note on either staff you would have to identify it as quick as you can. At first,, I sucked, today I can identify them all from high A (Ledger Line) above the Treble E as low as the C (two ledger lines) below the bass clef.
